Sometimes I find so many great ideas in such a short amount of time on other blogs that it blows my mind. I've found some great stuff the last couple of days and I just had to share.

Not only do I love the impermanence, but it's an inexpensive (yet time-consuming project, but I have more time than money) way to do wallpaper (I guess I have expensive taste when it comes to wallpaper). Ooh, and I love that it looks handmade...perfectly imperfect!
Lastly, fantastic cake stands. These would work for other uses as well, check out these stands made from powdercoated (I wish I had the ability to powdercoat at home) upcycled brass candlesticks, the tops are Corian.

I've been working at my church while Boo is in school, and I'm mainly organizing and purging right now. I found a bunch of vintage office supplies that the church is no longer using, so I got to bring them home. These are left-over cards and envelopes from the church library. I think it would be very useful for my books when I lend them to friends or family:
The top box is roughly half full of envelopes and (obviously) the bottom has the book cards.
The majority of our books are still in boxes because our bookshelves aren't built yet (I have the design completed, however), and they won't be until other surrounding bits are completed.
I'm sure I'll share more vintage office supply goodness soon!

3. Plastic deer from my church's rummage sale that was this weekend.

I've been super busy lately with other "stuff"...sorry for the lack of posts.
Anyway, all this busy-ness has not allowed much time to make things either, which makes me pretty grumpy. However, I managed to list a couple of new pieces in the shop this evening. It's so nice to have new pieces up.

this is heaven! Did you see the post on decor8 about Marieke van Proosdij? She's a "freelance interior decorator/prop stylist and designer of textiles..." check out her blog. Decor8 posted about Marieke's apartment and it's incredible! I particularly love the kitchen...orange cupboard fronts! And, check out the pom poms on the lampshade! (These two pictures were saved as one on the decor8 blog...and they happen to be my favorite!)
Time to start making pom poms again (check out the thinner-than-yarn embroidery floss or thread in those guys)!
While looking through some of my favorite blogs this morning, I noticed more than one post on preserving. As you many know, I learned how to can this summer and I guess I'm not the only one. According to this post on GOOD (found via Re-Nest), canning supply sales are up 30 percent this year! I also found a recipe on Craftzine for Quince Paste. Sounds yummy. Now I want to plant a quince tree.

Well, yesterday, Jenny, Boo and I picked apples and crabapples from two trees belonging to friends. We plan to process them next week and I'll have to report back what we make!

Last week we had triple digit weather and fires and yesterday, the weather got chilly and it rained. While it was raining, I remembered that Jenny had saved some seeds for me to plant with the instructions: "scatter seeds after autumn rain."
I put my mind to finding some orange enamel pots and such about a year ago as I thought it would be a nice punch of color in the kitchen which is going to be white and my dishes are all white. My plan was and is to casually look for some when thrifting. Well, a few weeks ago, I finally found a double boiler and it was only $1.50! The enamel is chipped here and there, but it adds character:

Fall is becoming more of a reality. The black walnut trees are starting to turn yellow and the nuts are beginning to fall. The hazelnuts have already fallen and the squirrels have found most of them at the park (I found a few that I'm going to try to grow). These are the colors I've been thinking about as of late (treasuries are great for this):
